An International Scientific Journal Utilizing Hot Disk for Thermal Conductivity Research

20240619_1160X300

In the field of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity testing, Hot Disk holds a special position, becoming synonymous with thermal conductivity testing methods. As the inventor of the Transient Plane Source (TPS) method and holder of multiple patents, Hot Disk has developed stable, fast, and accurate methods for testing thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity. They have created the unique high thermal conductivity Slab Method and Anisotropic Method, enabling the evaluation of various parameters with unprecedented accuracy. These advancements represent cutting-edge technology that remains unrivaled even in 2024. The Hot Disk TPS international standard method ISO-22007-2 is the only newly established international standard method related to thermal conductivity in the past decade.

Since its establishment in 1995, the number of research papers using Hot Disk for thermal conductivity testing has increased significantly. As of 2022, there were over 3,600 peer-reviewed international scientific journal articles utilizing Hot Disk for thermal conductivity and diffusivity research. In 2023, this number increased by more than 1,400, surpassing 5,000 papers until now.

Hot Disk TPS is widely used in various fields, including semiconductors, automotive, lithium batteries, electronic components, mobile phones, tires, and heat sinks. Leading companies in these sectors almost universally adopt Hot Disk for materials research, design, and product quality assessment. Since its establishment in 2003, TechMax Technical Co., Ltd have been Hot Disk's partners and exclusive distributors in Taiwan and the Pacific Rim (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia…..), promoting the TPS testing method across different industries. They take pride in the extensive application and recognition of Hot Disk and its methods.

Not only are international journal articles extensively using Hot Disk for researching the thermal conductivity properties of various materials, but the international standard method ISO 22007-2 part 2 has also adopted the Hot Disk TPS method. This is the only newly established method for thermal conductivity testing in the past decade.
